Siamo all'appuntamento di maggio dei Polish Days! Sapete che ogni mese c'è un tema cui ispirarsi: oggi si tratta del Numero 5!

Today is May Polish Days! You know that every month there's an inspiration theme: today it's the number 5!

Ho rischiato di non partecipare: questo tema non riusciva a far scattare nessun clic alla mia ispirazione, finché non ho pensato: perché non fare una manicure ispirata al Cinco de Mayo, dato che ci siamo anche vicini come data? Posso fare delle unghie messicane ^___^
E da lì è scattata l'ispirazione!! Ho trovato un'immagine e l'ho tradotta in termini di nail art:


I thought I wouldn't make it this month. The number 5 didn't tell anything to my creativity, until I thought: what if I did a manicure inspired by the Cinco de Mayo? I could do Mexican nails ^ ___ ^!
And here it is my inspiration! I found a picture on the web and I translated it in terms of nail art:

Twinsie Friday - duochromes: Cult Nails Seduction

Ciao a tutte!!
In questa carrellata di duochromes del venerdì non potevano mancare i flakies! Quelli di oggi appartengono a un Cult Nails che si chiama Seduction e che ne contiene letteralmente di tutti i colori... Ecco come viene descritto sul sito: “sheer purple/red jelly top coat polish loaded with red and blue multichromatic flakes.” E' un top coat con una base jelly trasparente colorata di viola e carico di flakies multichromatici rossi e blu (ma anche, dico io, arancio, verdi, fuchsia...). 
Adesso ve lo mostrerò su base nera, che è il miglior modo per vedere al meglio i flakies.

Today we'll have flakies! They belong to a Cult Nails which is called Seduction and which contains literally all the colors ... That's how it's described on the website: "sheer purple / red jelly polish top coat loaded with red and blue multichromatic flakes." But also, I say, orange, green, fuchsia ...
Now I'll show you it over a black base, which is the best way to see the most of the flakies.

E l'ultima chicca: volete vedere l'effetto della base colorata su un fuchsia? Sull'anulare ho lasciato il fuchsia da solo (Essie - Tour de finance), mentre sulle altre dita ho messo su anche uno strato di Seduction...

And the last treat: do you want to see the effect of the colored base over a fuchsia? On the ring finger I left the fuchsia on its own (Essie - Tour de finance), while on the other fingers I put a coat of Seduction ...

Kiko 639 Mandarino dorato + Essence Boho chic

Buonasera a tutte!
Per chi fosse ancora poco convinta sugli smalti con il finish sabbioso, oggi ho provato a sperimentare una tape manicure tono su tono accostando i due finish, il lucido e il ruvido.
Sono due pesca molto simili, uno è il Boho chic della Essence, molto bello con flakies dorati che si vedono sotto tutte le angolazioni di luce, e l'altro è il mandarino dorato di Kiko, della LE Sugar Mat.
Ho steso prima due strati di Boho chic, dopodiché ho messo un pezzo di scotch precedentemente tagliato con delle forbici a zig zag che avevo in casa...

For those who aren't completely sure about the sand finish, today I've tried an experiment with a tape manicure putting together the shine finish with the rough one.

We have two peach, one is the Essence Boho chic, very nice with gold flakies inside, and the other one is Kiko Golden Mandarin from the LE Sugar Mat.

Firstly I've pute two coats of Boho chic, then I put a piece of tape previously cut with some zig zag scissors that I had at home ...

... Poi ho dato uno strato di Kiko e ho levato subito lo scotch senza aspettare che lo smalto asciugasse.
Che ve ne pare del risultato?


.. Then I put a coat of Kiko and I immediately removed the tape without waiting for the polish to dry.

Twinsie Friday - duochromes: Barry M Silvery Lilac + comparison

Ciao a tutte!!
E' venerdì!! La festa del 25 aprile mi ha un po' scombinato e me ne stavo dimenticando @___@! Fortuna che mi è venuto in mente in tempo, ed eccomi qua!
Oggi vi mostro un Barry M. Pensavo fosse duochrome, ma lo chiamerei più un multichrome, dato che ci ho visto almeno tre colori distintamente: viola, verde e grigio argento. La sua particolarità però è che sulla sua superficie c'è uno strato di finissimo shimmer argentato. L'ho steso su base nera per far risaltare l'effetto multichrome, ma in effetti potrebbe essere carino vederlo su base lilla o viola!
Da solo è piuttosto trasparente, e ci vogliono almeno tre passate per ottenere una discreta opacità.

It's Friday!! This 25th April Bank Holiday messed me up a bit, and I was forgetting about it @ ___ @! Luckily it came to my mind in time, and here I am!

Today I'll show you a Barry M. I thought it was a duochrome, but I think it's a multichrome, because I've seen at least three distinct colors: purple, green and silver grey. Its uniqueness, however, is that on its surface there is a layer of fine silver shimmer. I put it on a black base, but maybe it might be nice to see it over a lilac or a purple!

It's quite sheer on its own, and it takes at least three coats to get a good coverage.

All'ombra si notano di più le particelle shimmer.

In the shadow you can see better its shimmer particles.

Questo smalto mi ricordava l'Essence Where is the party? per il colore, e così ho deciso di fare una comparazione (sempre layering su base nera).

This polish reminded me the Essence Where is the party? for its color, and so I decided to try a little comparison (layered over a black base).

WITP ha lo stesso effetto multichrome del SL, ma senza particelle shimmer! Non sono dupes quindi...

Giornata della Terra - Earth day

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Oggi celebriamo la Giornata della Terra. Inutile scrivervi di quanto sia importante che ognuno di noi possa dare il suo piccolo contributo per aiutare a salvaguardare il nostro pianeta. Dal risparmio delle risorse come l'acqua, l'energia elettrica o il petrolio, al riciclo dei rifiuti, ma anche l'insegnamento delle prime nozioni ambientali ai nostri figli sono le piccole cose che possiamo fare per allungarne la vita.
Io sto tentando di strappare mio figlio di 8 anni dalla sua pigrizia per imparare almeno a differenziare i rifiuti. Hanno fatto una lezione sul risparmio dell'acqua a scuola ed è rimasto molto colpito: da allora tiene i rubinetti aperti solo lo stretto necessario ^___^
La mia manicure di oggi è ispirata ai colori della Terra: per me la Terra è verde e marrone con tutte le sue sfumature, dal chiaro allo scuro, al rossiccio. Ho mischiato un po' di colori insieme ispirandomi anche a questa immagine del blog Top Coat it .
Purtroppo in questo week end abbiamo avuto pioggia quasi tutto il tempo e le foto non sono il massimo :-((

Today we celebrate the Earth Day. Needless to write to you how important it is that each one of us can give a small contribution to help preserve our planet. Little things can prolong its life: saving resources such as water, electricity or oil, recycling of waste, but also the teaching of environmental basics to our children.
I'm trying to wake up my 8 year old son from his laziness to learn at least how to differentiate waste. He had a lesson at school on saving water and he was very impressed. Since then he keeps our taps open only a little bit ^ ___ ^
My manicure is inspired by the colors of the earth: for me the earth is green and brown with all its shades, from light to dark. I mixed all these colors together and I also took inspiration from this picture from Top Coat it.
Unfortunately, this weekend we had rain almost all the time and the pics are not so good :-(

Twinsie Friday - Duochromes: Flormar U08

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Sono contenta che sia venerdì: intravedo lo spiraglio del week end e il mio umore migliora ^___^
Oggi è giorno di duochromes! Lui è stato frutto di una scelta dell'ultimo momento: a volte scelgo lo smalto in base all'umore e così è stato stavolta.
E' il mio primo Flormar, marca italiana, che ha trasferito la sua produzione in Turchia già dagli anni '70 e in Italia non si trova quasi da nessuna parte. U08 (ecco un'altra marca che dà numeri al posto dei nomi ai propri smalti, che poi sono anche difficili da ricordare! :-(( ) fa parte dei Miracle colors e l'ho trovato in un negozio dedicato alle unghie in centro a Piacenza, totalmente per caso! E' un duochrome di base blu scura con finish glassflecks che diventa viola sotto certe angolazioni di luce. Opaco in due passate, io ne ho date tre, ma semplicemente per correggere le sbeccature della notte (dò sempre lo smalto la sera prima di fare le foto): consiglio il top coat più che altro perché ho visto che si rovina facilmente e basta poco perché si scheggi!
Costa € 4,00, quindi piuttosto economico, ed è bellissimo!!

I'm glad it's Friday: the week end is behind the door and my mood improves ^ ___ ^
Today is duochromes day! This polish has been the result of a last-minute choice: sometimes I choose my nail polish according to my mood and this was this time.
It 's my first Flormar, an Italian brand which has moved its production to Turkey since the 70s and it's almost impossible to find some Flormar shop in Italy now. U08 (here is another brand that gives numbers instead of names, so they are also difficult to remember! :-( () is part of the Miracle colors line and I  found it in a nail shop in the center of Piacenza, totally by accident! He's got a dark blue base with a glassflecks finish, and it turns purple from certain angles of light. Opaque in two coats, I've given three, but simply to correct the chipping of the night: I recommend a top coat because I saw that it chips easily.
It costs € 4,00, so pretty cheap, and it's beautiful!

Floral manicure for spring!

Ciao ragazze!
Stasera vi mostrerò la manicure che posterò per il Crumpet Amateur Nail Art Contest - April aperto a tutti i blog con meno di 100 followers con un tema fisso che questo mese è quello dei fiori! Le votazioni partono dal 18 aprile direttamente sul sito.
Non ho assolutamente chissà quali aspirazioni, ma queste occasioni mi muovono a fare qualcosina in più, altrimenti la mia pigrizia avrebbe il sopravvento ^___^
Per la base ho spugnato un bel po' di pastelli su base bianca: giallo, rosa, verde menta, celeste e lilla.
Sopra ho applicato i fiorellini con un dotting tool e messo qualche perlina argentata per le corolle.

Tonight I'll show you the manicure that I will post for the Amateur Crumpet Nail Art Contest - April. It's open to all blogs with less than 100 followers with a fixed theme. The april theme is flowers! Voting start from April 18th on Crumpet web site.
These occasions are important for me because they push me to do something more than usual, otherwise my laziness would prevail ^ ___ ^
For the base I sponged a lot of pastels on a white base: yellow, pink, mint green, sky blue and lilac.
I applied some little flowers with a dotting tool and put some silver beads for the petals.
