EuRoPe Challenge # 10 - Denmark - Foxy The Polish Formerly Known as Purple Rain

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Scusate il ritardo di un giorno, ultimamente ho molto meno tempo libero da dedicare al blog :-( Oggi però vorrei ugualmente portarvi in Danimarca!
Sono una fan da tempo di un brand indie danese che vi ho già mostrato qua sopra: Foxy Paws!
Fra i miei untrieds di Foxy Paws posseggo solo holo, e per fortuna domenica scorsa c'è stato il sole qua in Pianura Padana. Ecco dunque a voi lo splendido holo linear violetto The Polish Formerly Known as Purple Rain! Per chi si domandasse il motivo di un nome del genere, posso dirvi che la Foxy Paws aveva già lanciato un holo viola, Purple Rain (che posseggo e prima o poi vi mostrerò), ma questo ha un effetto holo molto più accentuato. E' praticamente la versione revamped di Purple Rain :-)

You all know that I'm a big fan of a Danish indie brand: Foxy Paws!

Among my Foxy untrieds I have only holo polishes, and thankfully last Sunday it was a sunny day here in the Po Valley. So I'll show you a beautiful purple linear holo, The Polish Formerly Known as Purple Rain! For those who ask why a name like that, I can tell you that Foxy Paws had already launched a holo purple, Purple Rain (which I own, and sooner or later I'll show you), but this one has a stronger holo effect. It's a revamped version of Purple Rain :-)

EuRoPe Challenge # 8 - Netherlands - Da 107 + Hema 827

Buonasera a tutte....
...e benvenute in Olanda!
Questa settimana vi mostrerò due degli smaltini che mi ha portato la mitica Silvia dall'Olanda l'anno scorso. I marchi sono entrambi olandesi, l'azzurro è un DA e il viola (leggermente duochrome) un Hema, e sono entrambi meravigliosi.
L'accostamento dei colori è un po' strano, ma il risultato mi è piaciuto un sacco! Per realizzare questa  nail art ho utilizzato degli stickers comodissimi a zig zag della Nails Redesigned.

This week I'll show you two nail polishes that my lovely friend Silvia brought to me last year from Amsterdam. Both brands are Dutch, the blue one is a DA and the purple one (slightly duochrome) is a Hema. They are both gorgeous!!

This colour mix is a bit strange, but I love the final result! I used some chevron nail vinyls from Nails Redesigned  for this nail art.

Holothon 2.0 - # 7 :Literary Lacquers If It Pleases You

Ciao fanciulle!
Per questo venerdì ho scelto un Literary Lacquers. L'anno scorso vi ho mostrato More Fire Than Light. Lui è un suo fratello proveniente dalla stessa collezione (e comprato insieme: come vedete ci ho messo solo un anno per swatcharlo :-D), stavolta ispirato al libro di Anne Rice "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty". Io però l'ho preso per il colore. E' un olografico linear strabiliante: uno degli arcobaleni più belli visti sulle mie unghie, sul serio! Guardate le foto! Ed è un viola-marrone! Avete qualcosa di simile nel vostro stash? Io no di certo!
Ho dato tre passate nelle foto, senza top coat.

For this Friday I chose a Literary Lacquers. Last year I showed you More Fire Than Light. He's one of his brothers from the same collection (bought together, and as you can see it took me only one year to swatch it :-D), this time inspired by the book of Anne Rice's "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty".
 I bought it for its color. It's an amazing holographic linear. One of the most beautiful rainbows seen on my nails, seriously! Look at these pictures! And it's a purple-brown! Do you have something similar in your stash? I certainly do not! 
Three coats in the pics below, no top coat.

Holothon 2.0 - # 4 : Darling Diva Gett Off

Buonasera  a tutte!!
Eccomi sul filo di lana a postare per la Holothon! Ma fra aperitivi, giri e passeggiate mi sono un po' persa via stasera! ^____^

Dopo Glacier vi mostro un altro holo pieno di glitterini di Darling Diva, stavolta dalla Prince Collection! Non sono una fan di Prince, e l'ho preso per il colore: alla fine sono stata soddisfatta perché lo trovo bellissimo!
Si stende senza una base particolare, opaco in due passate, senza top coat.

After Glacier I'll show you another holo full of glitter from Darling Diva. This time it comes from the Prince Collection!
I'm not particularly fan of Prince, and I bought it because I love this colour.
It doesn't need an aqua base, opaque in two coats, no top coat.

Holothon 2.0 - # 1 Layla Hologram Effect 14 Cloudy Violet

Ciao a tutte!!
Eccomi qua, eccezionalmente di sabato a festeggiare il Solstizio d'Estate con una nuova challenge! Vi ricordate della Holothon l'anno scorso, che ci ha accompagnato tutta l'estate con i suoi holo abbaglianti? Quest'anno ritorna, in versione 2.0 con tutte le mie compagne, e alcune new entries cui dò il benvenuto!

Volevo iniziare col botto, quindi perché non un Layla? Questo è un bellissimo holo linear viola, il Cloudy Violet!

Here I am, exceptionally on Saturday to celebrate the Summer Solstice with a new challenge! 
Do you remember the last year Holothon, who took us throughout the summer with its palm in the face holos? This year the Holothon is back in version 2.0 with all my nail polish friends, and some new entries: welcome to all of you!!

I wanted to start with a palm in the face, so why not a Layla? This is a beautiful linear purple holo, Cloudy Violet!

Non è stupendo? Ho usato un'aqua  base (io utilizzo l'Aqua fix base coat della Fnug), perché come per la maggior parte degli holo linear altrimenti è difficile da applicare. Se non avete un'aqua base potete utilizzare la tecnica sandwich come ci espone Elena. Sull'indice si nota una zona dove manca del colore. Purtroppo me ne sono accorta solo guardando le foto, perché dal vivo non si notava...
Nelle foto vedete due passate senza top coat. La durata è quello che è, ma ne vale la pena!


It's gorgeous, isn't it? I used an aqua base (the Fnug Aqua Fix base coat), because like most of the linear holos, it can be difficult to apply. Otherwise you can use the sandwich technique explained by Elena. On the index you will notice an area where there's no color. Unfortunately I realized it only checking the pictures, because it wasn't so noticeable in person ... 
In the pictures you'll see two coats without top coat. Its longevity isn't high, but it's worth it!

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 13 - Rainbow - Fan brush rainbow nail art

Buonasera figliole!!
Sembra incredibile, ma siamo arrivate alla fine della nostra challenge che ha ripreso i colori dell'arcobaleno.
Come l'anno scorso l'ultimo post è dedicato all'arcobaleno con i suoi 7 colori. Pensa che ripensa ho deciso di riprovare a usare un pennello che mi aveva dato discrete soddisfazioni durante la Battle of Planets, ossia il fan brush. Avendo pochissimo tempo in questo periodo, poteva essere la nail art ideale. Peccato che il risultato finale non sia stato proprio il massimo, pazienza: spero apprezzerete ugualmente! In ogni caso dovrò riprovarci ancora ^___^

Ho usato come base un celeste pastello della Flormar, il 423, a imitare il colore del cielo. Poi ho steso i 7 smalti dei 7 colori dell'iride su carta stagnola e ho intinto il fan brush usando circa tre colori per unghia sulla base celeste.
Ho usato:

rosso: Illamasqua Alarm
arancione: Essie Capri
giallo: Butter London Cheeky Chops
verde: Kiko 391Verde Erba
blu: Kiko 336 Blu elettrico
viola: Shaka Purple music
indaco: Barry M Indigo

It seems incredible, but that's the last Rainbow Ladies 2.0 day!
Like last year, the latest post is dedicated to the rainbow with its seven colours. I decided to try again the fan brush, which gave me so much fun during the Battle of Planets. In addition it's a very quick nail art, and now I'm always in the hurry and have no time for painting my nails. The result it's not what I expected from that but, huh, I hope you'll like it anyway! 
I'll have to try it again ^ ___ ^

I used as base a Flormar pastel blue, # 423, to suggest the colour of the sky. Then I put some drops of the 7 colours of the rainbow over an aluminum sheet and I dipped in the fan brush. I used about three colours per nail, and exactly:

Red:         Illamasqua Alarm
Orange:   Essie Capri
Yellow:    Butter London Cheeky Chops
Green:    Kiko 391Green Grass
Blue:       Kiko 336 Electric Blue
Purple:   Shaka Purple music
Indigo:    Barry M Indigo

And here is what it came out ...

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 11 - Violet - Kiko 302 Orchidea Perlato + Pupa HolographicViolet #035

Buongiorno a tutte!!
La giornata di oggi è dedicata al viola. Questo è un altro dei miei colori smaltosi preferiti, e infatti ne ho di tutte le sfumature! Inizialmente avevo pensato a un holo, ma in questi giorni il tempo fa i capricci, e avevo paura di trovare solo nuvole. Ieri sera ho optato per un viola quasi metallico, il 302 della Kiko (ovviamente di Perlato non ha nulla, il suo finish è shimmer), di base rossa, davvero bellissimo.
All'ora di pranzo il sole ha fatto capolino, così ho deciso di approfittarne e stampare con uno smalto holo.
Ecco cosa ho usato:

Base viola: Kiko 302 Orchidea Perlato
Smalto per stamping: Pupa Holographic Violet # 035
Stamping Plate: Vivid Lacquer VL020
No Top coat

Today is the violet day. This is another one of my favourite nail polish color, and I own so many purple bottles in my helmer! Firstly I wanted to pick up a holo, but the weather got crazy in these days. So yesterday night I choose an almost metallic violet, Kiko # 302, Pearly Orchid, which is not pearly at all. It's a red-based purple with a strong shimmer, so gorgeous!
At lunch time the sun showed up, and I decided to do some stamping.
Here's what I used:

Violet Base: Kiko # 302 Pearly Orchid
Stamping Nail polish: Pupa Holographic Violet # 035
Stamping Plate: Vivid Lacquer VL020
No Top coat

Discontinued Day #10 - Elevation Polish discontinued: Khongoryn Els, Gobi and Marmolada

Ragazze, siamo già arrivate al decimo appuntamento con il nostro Discontinued Day! E' un appuntamento che amo molto, e mi permette anche di smaltire la pila degli untrieds: che volere di più? :-)
Oggi dedico questo DD al mio brand indie preferito, nonostante la difficile reperibilità. Infatti li compro dall'America, sfidando la dogana, sul loro sito: http://elevationpolish.bigcartel.com/
Ve ne mostrerò tre, come ultimamente mi diverto a fare nei DD, completamente diversi l'uno dall'altro.
Il primo è Khongoryn Els. Fa parte della Mongolia Collection, è un taupe con un fortissimo shimmer viola completamente coprente in due passate. E' un accostamento molto particolare, e al sole è bellissimo!! L'ispirazione viene dalla luce viola del crepuscolo sulle dune del deserto del Gobi.

Time has flown by and today is already the 10th Discontinued Day! I really love this Twinsie, and I also can reduce my untrieds pile: I cannot ask more! ^^
I dedicate this DD to my favourite indie brand, even if it's so tricky to have it here in Italy. I buy my EP directly on their website: http://elevationpolish.bigcartel.com/ despite the customs.
I'm going to show you three of them.
Khongoryn Els, part of the Mongolia Collection, is a taupe with a strong purple shimmer completely opaque in two coats. The inspiration of this nail polish comes from Khongoryn Els dunes of the Gobi desert at dusk, with this amazing purple light.

Il secondo è Gobi, e fa parte anche lui della Mongolia Collection. E' un holo scattered color sabbia con uno shimmer che va dal verde all'arancio (anche se il verde predomina). Anche lui coprente in due passate.



Gobi it's part of the Mongolia Collection too. It's a holographic scattered sand nail polish with a green to orange (but green is very very strong) colour shift. Two coats too.

L'ultimo che vi mostro è Marmolada, che fa parte della 321 Metres Collection. E' un jelly celeste-grigio pieno di glitter circolari argento e azzurri di varie dimensioni, piccoli glitter viola e microglitter argento. Nelle foto vedete due passate senza base colorata sotto. Ce l'ho ancora sulle unghie e mi piace un sacco!




The last one it's Marmolada, part of the 321 Metres Collection. It's a glitter polish in a grey-blue jelly base full of blue and silver circle glitters in various sizes along with small purple glitters and silver micro-glitter. Two coats without an undie! I still have it on my nails and I'm in love with it!!

Birthstone Challenge # 2 - Amethyst: Shaka Amethyst

Ciao a tutte!
Oggi torna la Birthstone Challenge dedicata alla pietra preziosa del mese e ideata dalla super creativa Ere Kanezawa! La pietra di febbraio è l'ametista: il suo colore è il viola e rappresenta la regalità e il potere.
Per questo mese ho scelto uno Shaka che si chiama proprio Amethyst: dovevo assolutamente provarlo in quest'occasione! :-D
E' un viola chiaro metallico, coprente in due passate. Dopo la stesura si vedono un po' i segni delle pennellate, anche se non in modo eccessivo. Nelle foto ho messo anche una passata di top coat.

Today the Birthstone Challenge, dedicated to the gemstone of the month and created by the lovely Ere Kanezawa is back! The stone of February is the amethyst: its color can range from a light violet to a dark purple and it represents royalty and the power.
I chose a Shaka called Amethyst: I absolutely had to try it on this occasion! :-D 
It's a light purple metallic, opaque in two coats. When you apply it, it leaves some brushstrokes, but not so visible. The pictures below are with top coat.

Giardino d'inverno # 6 - Kiko Denim nail lacquer #462 Tribal Purple + Essence Dark Romance LE #04 Gothic Gold

Buon San Valentino a tutte!
Per il Giardino d'Inverno di oggi non ho resistito e ho deciso di mostrarvi uno dei miei ultimi acquisti da Kiko: il Tribal Purple della collezione Denim! La formula è davvero fantastica: si stende che è una meraviglia ed è perfettamente opaco in due passate. Il finish è satinato con un leggerissimo shimmer che gli dà lucentezza. Mi dispiace di non avere foto al sole, perché si vedrebbe molto meglio!
Il tema di oggi l'ha proposto Natalia, ed è...San Valentino :-)
L'abbinamento viola/bordeaux-oro è uno dei miei preferiti, così ci ho voluto accostare questo oro freddo textured della Essence. All'inizio avevo pensato anche a dei cuoricini usando lo stesso oro che ho messo sul mignolo. Ho fatto un po' di prove sulla mano destra (è sempre lei la mia mano cavia per le nail art :-D), ma non mi piacevano per niente. I dots che vedete sul lato dell'unghia sono usciti assolutamente per caso (anche la grandezza è irregolare), ma mi piacevano, così li ho lasciati ^___^




Happy Valentine's Day! 
For today's Winter Garden I couldn't resist to show you one of my recent purchases from Kiko: Tribal Purple from the Denim Collection! The formula is really great: the application was a dream and it reaches a perfect coverage in two coats. It has a satin finish with a slight shimmer that gives it shine. I'm sorry I don't have pictures in the sun, because you would see it much better! 
Natalia suggested the theme of the day which is....Valentine's Day :-)
The combo purple/burgundy and gold is one of my favorites, so I've used the cold gold textured Gothic Gold from the Essence Dark Romance LE . At first I wanted to put some gold hearts on my nails. I did some tests on my right hand (which is my guinea pig for nail art:-D), but I didn't like any of them. I put some dots on the nail side, and with my surprise I really like them, so here they are in the pictures below ^___^

Giardino d'inverno # 4 - Kiko Sugar Mat #635 Glicine/Wisteria

Buongiorno a tutte!
Il tema del Giardino d'inverno di oggi l'ha proposto Sara, ed è proprio....il giardino d'inverno :-D
Io stavolta ho optato per un semplice swatch di uno dei pochissimi textured "senza sbrilli" in mio possesso.
Si tratta di uno degli Sugar Mat della Kiko usciti la primavera scorsa e purtroppo ormai discontinuati.
Il colore lo trovo bellissimo: è un lilla freddo, che in effetti ricorda il colore del glicine. E' molto sobrio, quasi neutro, un colore molto portabile nella vita di tutti i giorni, e anche da ufficio secondo me.
Nella stesura c'è da fare un po' di attenzione perché ho notato che lo smalto tendeva ad andare sui lati senza autolivellarsi. E' opaco in due passate e ha un'ottima durata: oggi è il terzo giorno che lo tengo sulle unghie e non si vede neanche il consumo sulle punte (ovviamente non c'è top coat)!
Subito dopo la stesura mi sono però ritrovata le dita piene di quei microgranuli di cui è composto e purtroppo si vedono anche nelle foto: vi prego di perdonarmi :-(

Today the Winter Garden theme has been suggested by Sara, and it's..... the winter garden :-D
This time I opted for a simple swatch of one of the few textured "without sparks" that I own.
It's one of the Sugar Mat released by Kiko last spring, and now unfortunately discontinued.
I like this color very very much. It's a cool lilac , the same color of the wisteria. It 's almost neutral and very wearable in everyday life, IMHO also work appropriate.
You have to pay attention when you apply it because I noticed that the nail polish might go to the sides of the nail. It's opaque in two coats and it has a good longevity. Today is the third day that I keep it on my nails and no tip wear at all (of course without top coat) !
After applying the last coat I found my fingers full of these micro-granules this nail polish is made of. Unfortunately you can clearly see them in the pictures below: please forgive me! :-(

Crows Toes One Trick Pony

Ciao a tutte e ben trovate!!
Era troppo tempo che non mettevo più un holo: non si può stare troppo tempo senza qualche sbrillio olografico, vero? :-)
Ne ho approfittato per mostrarvi uno dei miei regali smaltosi di Natale. Questo l'ha scelto mio marito, e direi che la scelta è stata ottima!! Non avevo niente di simile nel mio stash e lo trovo davvero stupendo.
E' un indie, il mio primo Crows Toes; in Europa lo trovate da Edgy Polish.
Sul sito viene definito un holo multichrome viola/verde, ma io ci vedo moltissimi colori dentro *___*
Due passate senza top coat.

It was too long since I put a holo on my nails. We cannot stay too long without some holographic sparkles, right? :-)
I took the opportunity to show you one of my nail polish Christmas gifts. This one has been chosen by my husband, and I would say that this was an excellent choice! I didn't have anything like this in my stash and I find it really amazing.
It's an indie, my first Crows Toes. In Europe you can find it at Edgy Polish.
On the website it's called a purple/green holo multichrome, but I can see so many colors inside!

Battle of Planets # 13 - Galaxy Nails in purple and blue

Ciao a tutte!!
Siamo quasi alla fine della nostra Battle of Planets. Non poteva mancare una galaxy nail art per vedere un po' di stelle sulle nostre unghie!! ^___^
Ero felicissima di avere l'opportunità di fare un secondo tentativo di galaxy (se siete curiose qua c'è il mio primo tentativo)! Purtroppo questa settimana non è stata il massimo, e il risultato ottenuto non mi è piaciuto per niente :-((
Vorrà dire che riproverò ancora, anche perché le galaxy vengono sempre diverse ogni volta che ci proviamo! :-) Bisogna pur essere ottimiste!
Una delle circostanze che mi sono capitate è stata una brutta rottura all'indice della swatching hand, così vedrete le mie unghiette ai minimi termini.
Ho utilizzato una marea di smalti.

We are close to the end of our Battle of Planets. We couldn't miss a galaxy nail art: the best way to see plenty of stars on our nails! ^ ___ ^
I was so happy to have the opportunity to make a second attempt to a galaxy nail art (if you're curious here's my first attempt!) 
Unfortunately this week wasn't my best week, and the final result didn't satisfy me at all. :-( 
This means that I'll try it again, because every galaxy nail art is different and maybe I'll manage to improve :-) I have to be optimistic! 
Among other things I had a bad breakup of my swatching hand index, so you'll see my little nubs!
I used a lot of nail polishes.
