EuRoPe Challenge # 4 - Greece - Contrary Polish Santorini stamped in gold

Buonasera figliole!!
Il nostro giro europeo ci porta in Grecia, una terra che adoro e che ho nel cuore!! Lo sfondo del mio blog è una foto che ho scattato su una spiaggia greca qualche anno fa. Dopo esserci stata qualche volta soffro già di "mal della Grecia" e non vedo l'ora di tornarci!
La base per la manicure di oggi è ispirata al mare greco, e lo smalto è stato scelto apposta per il suo nome, Santorini!! Non è splendido? Un blu intenso pieno di flakies.
Ho deciso di fare uno stamping in stile greco con la fiaccola olimpica e qualche fregio dorato utilizzando la plate MoYou London Explorer Collection 09 e China Glaze Passion.
La qualità di queste plate è sorprendente: non pare anche a voi?
Quella delle foto un po' meno, purtroppo le ho scattate sotto l'acqua e un cielo cupo. Ormai siamo già in pieno Autunno!

Today we are in Greece. I love this country and a little piece of Greece is still in my heart!! The background of my blog is a picture that I took in a Greek beach some years ago. I miss it a lot and look forward to come back soon!
I chose my manicure base for its colour, inspired by the blue Aegean Sea, and by its  name, Santorini!! It's a gorgeous deep blue filled with flakies. 
I decided to stamp in greek style with the Olympic torch and some golden friezes using the plate MoYou London Explorer Collection 09 and China Glaze Passion. 
The quality of these plates is surprising, don't you think so? 
The quality of these pictures definitely not.  Unfortunately I took them under the rain and a dark sky. Welcome back rainy season!

Ho deciso di partecipare, perché mentre guardavo il video degli Earth Wind & Fire, mi è arrivata l'ispirazione, e ho "saputo" cos'avrei voluto fare!

Prima di passare alle foto un paio di annotazioni. Causa grave rottura al medio della swatching hand, sono passata alla mano destra, e non sono più abituata a scattare foto con la sinistra :-(
Seconda cosa: perdonate le sbavature del top coat! Spero che la prossima volta vada meglio!

I decided to participate, because while I was watching the Earth Wind & Fire video, I had a sudden inspiration, and I "knew" what to do! 
A manicure inspired by the costumes of the members of the group! Then you'll tell me if I succeeded a bit.

Here's what I used: 
white base: Shaka Matt White 
gold base: China Glaze Passion 
stripes: Elevation Polish The Arches, Kiko 367 Pearly Pink Salmon and Elevation Polish Streetside, New York 


Before moving onto the pictures, a couple of notes. I broke seriously my swatching hand middle finger, so I had to use my right hand, but it was very hard to take pictures with the left hand :-(
Second thing: unfortunately the top coat smeared everything! I hope next time will be better!

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 13 - Rainbow - Fan brush rainbow nail art

Buonasera figliole!!
Sembra incredibile, ma siamo arrivate alla fine della nostra challenge che ha ripreso i colori dell'arcobaleno.
Come l'anno scorso l'ultimo post è dedicato all'arcobaleno con i suoi 7 colori. Pensa che ripensa ho deciso di riprovare a usare un pennello che mi aveva dato discrete soddisfazioni durante la Battle of Planets, ossia il fan brush. Avendo pochissimo tempo in questo periodo, poteva essere la nail art ideale. Peccato che il risultato finale non sia stato proprio il massimo, pazienza: spero apprezzerete ugualmente! In ogni caso dovrò riprovarci ancora ^___^

Ho usato come base un celeste pastello della Flormar, il 423, a imitare il colore del cielo. Poi ho steso i 7 smalti dei 7 colori dell'iride su carta stagnola e ho intinto il fan brush usando circa tre colori per unghia sulla base celeste.
Ho usato:

rosso: Illamasqua Alarm
arancione: Essie Capri
giallo: Butter London Cheeky Chops
verde: Kiko 391Verde Erba
blu: Kiko 336 Blu elettrico
viola: Shaka Purple music
indaco: Barry M Indigo

It seems incredible, but that's the last Rainbow Ladies 2.0 day!
Like last year, the latest post is dedicated to the rainbow with its seven colours. I decided to try again the fan brush, which gave me so much fun during the Battle of Planets. In addition it's a very quick nail art, and now I'm always in the hurry and have no time for painting my nails. The result it's not what I expected from that but, huh, I hope you'll like it anyway! 
I'll have to try it again ^ ___ ^

I used as base a Flormar pastel blue, # 423, to suggest the colour of the sky. Then I put some drops of the 7 colours of the rainbow over an aluminum sheet and I dipped in the fan brush. I used about three colours per nail, and exactly:

Red:         Illamasqua Alarm
Orange:   Essie Capri
Yellow:    Butter London Cheeky Chops
Green:    Kiko 391Green Grass
Blue:       Kiko 336 Electric Blue
Purple:   Shaka Purple music
Indigo:    Barry M Indigo

Giardino d'inverno # 5 - Klimt inspired nail art

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Oggi, grazie a Rebenice, il Giardino d'Inverno s'ispira all'arte di Klimt!
Ho dato un'occhiata alle opere più famose di questo straordinario pittore, ma è molto difficile trasporre qualcosa di Klimt sulle unghie :-(
E poi ho visto L'albero della vita, con quel pattern di rami che diventano riccioli, e ho scoperto pure di avere una plate che ricorda quei riccioli (Cheeky Plate CH52)!
Ho usato il mio adorato color panna (OPI The vampire is buff) come base, l'oro definitivo per lo stamping (China Glaze Passion) e poi un dotter con un po' di nero e bianco.
Quello che vedete nelle foto è il risultato, mattificato alla fine. Spero vi piaccia!

Today, thanks to Rebenice, the Winter Garden is inspired by the art of Klimt! 
I checked the most famous works of this extraordinary painter, but it's very difficult to transpose something on my nails :-( 
And then I saw The Tree of life with that pattern of swirled branches: I have a plate which reminds that pattern (Cheeky Plate CH52)! 
 I used my beloved white cream (OPI The vampire is buff) as a base, a gold that I bought specially for stamping (China Glaze Passion) and then I used a dotter with a bit of black and white. 
What you see in the pictures below is the result, mattified at the end. Do you like it?

Battle of Planets # 13 - Galaxy Nails in purple and blue

Ciao a tutte!!
Siamo quasi alla fine della nostra Battle of Planets. Non poteva mancare una galaxy nail art per vedere un po' di stelle sulle nostre unghie!! ^___^
Ero felicissima di avere l'opportunità di fare un secondo tentativo di galaxy (se siete curiose qua c'è il mio primo tentativo)! Purtroppo questa settimana non è stata il massimo, e il risultato ottenuto non mi è piaciuto per niente :-((
Vorrà dire che riproverò ancora, anche perché le galaxy vengono sempre diverse ogni volta che ci proviamo! :-) Bisogna pur essere ottimiste!
Una delle circostanze che mi sono capitate è stata una brutta rottura all'indice della swatching hand, così vedrete le mie unghiette ai minimi termini.
Ho utilizzato una marea di smalti.

We are close to the end of our Battle of Planets. We couldn't miss a galaxy nail art: the best way to see plenty of stars on our nails! ^ ___ ^
I was so happy to have the opportunity to make a second attempt to a galaxy nail art (if you're curious here's my first attempt!) 
Unfortunately this week wasn't my best week, and the final result didn't satisfy me at all. :-( 
This means that I'll try it again, because every galaxy nail art is different and maybe I'll manage to improve :-) I have to be optimistic! 
Among other things I had a bad breakup of my swatching hand index, so you'll see my little nubs!
I used a lot of nail polishes.

Battle of Planets # 11 - Neptune: China Glaze Scandalous Shenanigans

Buongiorno ragazze!!
Questa settimana trionfa il blu sul blog! Oggi la Battle of Planets è dedicata a Nettuno, il pianeta più gelido del sistema solare. Il suo nome è dedicato al dio del mare, e non potevamo non scegliere il blu per celebrarlo! Non solo, leggo da Wikipedia: "Le tracce di metano presenti negli strati più esterni dell'atmosfera contribuiscono a conferire al pianeta Nettuno il suo caratteristico colore azzurro intenso".
Oggi vi mostrerò uno smalto abbastanza recente, viene dalla collezione Autunno 2013 di China Glaze, la Autumn Nights, ed è stata una bella scoperta, perché mi è piaciuto molto di più di quello che pensavo! Uno splendido blu metallico, non troppo scuro e coprente alla prima passata!

We have the blue week on the blog ^__^! Today the Battle of the Planets is dedicated to Neptune, the coldest planet of the solar system. His name is dedicated to the god of the sea, and we had to choose the blue to celebrate it! More, I read from Wikipedia: "Traces of methane in the outermost regions in part account for the planet's blue appearance".

Today I will show you a nail polish which comes from the China Glaze Fall 2013 Collection, Autumn Nights. It was a nice discovery, because I liked it much more than I thought! A beautiful metallic blue, not too dark and a perfect one coater!

Battle of Planets # 9 - Saturn: H&M Purple flash ft. Kiko Mirror Nail Lacquer 621 + China Glaze Midnight ride

Buongiorno ragazze!!
Oggi vi porto su Saturno! ^___^ Non è uno dei più belli in assoluto grazie al suo anello? E il colore a lui associato è il viola, meglio di così non avrei potuto chiedere!!
Per celebrarlo degnamente ho trovato una stamping plate con dei piccoli pianeti Saturno, quale occasione migliore di oggi per provarla?
Su tutte le dita eccetto l'anulare ho messo un viola foil, il Purple Flash di H&M, comprato ormai più di un anno fa quando sono entrata in un H&M a fare razzia di smalti ^^ Peccato che non ce ne sia uno nella mia città! Comunque il colore è bellissimo, sarà che sono innamorata di questo finish! Ed è quasi un camaleonte: vedrete nelle foto quanto cambia a seconda della luce! E' anche molto pigmentato; nelle foto ho dato due passate, ma ne basterebbe quasi una abbondante!
Per la accent ho usato una base viola scurissimo, quasi nero, il CG Midnight ride, su cui ho stampato con il Kiko mirror viola 621, il Violetto utilizzando la Cheeky plate CH46, la stessa che avevo usato per la Luna :-)

Today I take you on Saturn ! ^ ___ ^ It's one of my favourite planets thanks to its ring! And we're all wearing purple on our nails, I couldn't ask better!
I found a stamping plate with a design full of small Saturns, and I had to try it today!
On all fingers except the ring finger I put a purple foil, H&M Purple Flash, bought last year. Too bad that there aren't H&M stores in my town ! However, the color is beautiful and I'm in love with this finish! It's almost a chameleon: can you see in these pictures how much it changes depending from the light? It's also very pigmented, almost a one coater. I put two coats in the pictures below.
For the accent I used a purple base very dark , almost black, CG Midnight ride, on which I printed with Kiko mirror 621, Violet, and with the Cheeky plate CH46 , the same that I used for the Moon :-)

KKcenterHK N.NAIL Studs Circular Blue 2mm stamped over Essence Lily Bloom

Ciao a tutte!!
Questo titolo lunghissimo per indicare che oggi pubblico il secondo post relativo a quello che mi ha gentilmente mandato la KKcenterHK! Qua c'è il primo post.
Il secondo prodotto che vi mostro sono delle borchiette azzurre metalliche del diametro di 2 mm, le NNAIL-DRN662.
Ecco come ho deciso di utilizzarle: ho steso come base un bianco dallo shimmer rosa-dorato molto carino, Lily Bloom dalla LE Floral Grunge della Essence. Poi ho fatto una stampa utilizzando una plate della Cheeky, la CH44 e Deviantly Daring di China Glaze (che fra l'altro è ottimo per stampare).
Sulla stampa floreale azzurra ho aggiunto le borchiette a completare le corolle dei fiori: che ve ne pare del risultato? Devo ancora perfezionare la mia tecnica di stampa :-) però mi piace com'è venuta!

How long is this title? Anyway, today I'm posting the second part related to what KKcenterHK kindly has sent to me! Here you'll find the first part.
The second product I'm showing you are some blue metallic studs with a diameter of 2 mm, product code NNAIL-DRN662.
I have put as base a pink-gold shimmery white very cute, Essence Lily Bloom from the LE Floral Grunge . Then I stamped using a Cheeky plate, the CH44 and Deviantly Daring from China Glaze (which is great for printing).
I added the studs to the floral print: what do you think? I have to improve my stamping techniques :-) but I like the final result!

Twinsie Friday - Holothon: China Glaze Sci-fly by

Buongiorno ragazze!!
Eccoci arrivate alla fine di un'altra settimana!
Per oggi volevo provare uno smalto della Hologlam Collection, e ho scelto questo celeste (l'altro che ho preso è Not in this galaxy, il rosa corallo).
E' un holo linear, ma il suo effetto è molto blando rispetto ad altri linear che ho provato e la formula non è perfetta. Opaco in due passate, è un po' denso e lascia vedere i difetti dell'unghia. L'ho provato su base normale, ma una base ad acqua probabilmente aiuta. L'effetto holo si nota una volta asciugato, quindi non temete se non lo vedete mentre lo applicate! Non ho messo top coat.
E' un bello smalto, ma non uno di quelli che vi lasceranno a bocca aperta!

Here we are at the end of another week!  
For today I wanted to try a polish from the Hologlam Collection, and I chose this sky blue (the other one that I have bought is Not in this galaxy, the pink coral one).
It's a linear holo, but its effect is very weak compared to others that I've tried and its formula isn't perfect. Opaque in two coats, it's a bit thick and it shows the imperfections of your nails. 
I tried it on a normal base, but an aqua base probably helps. You can see the holo effect once it dries, so don't worry if you don't see it while you apply it! I didn't put any top coat.
It's a beautiful polish, but not one of those that will leave you speechless!

Volevo anche mostrarvi com'è all'ombra: beh, scompare l'effetto holo e diventa quasi metallico!


I want to show you how it is under the shade and...well, the holo effect desappears and it becomes almost metallic!

Twinsie Friday - duochromes: China Glaze Unpredictable

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Per l'appuntamento duochrome di oggi avevo voglia di qualcosa di verde, così ho preso Unpredictable della collezione New Bohemian Luster Chrome Autunno 2012.
Beh, mi sono totalmente innamorata di questo smalto: è uno dei miei preferiti in assoluto e mi è dispiaciuto toglierlo!! I colori vanno dal verde-oro all'azzurro-teal e il passaggio è piuttosto netto. In ombra si vede bene il verde-oro nella parte centrale dell'unghia e l'azzurro-teal sui lati. E' coprente in due passati (non ho usato basi colorate sotto), e l'unico difetto che gli si può riscontrare sono i segni delle pennellate, ma il colore è così bello che alla fine quei segni passano in secondo piano!

Today I wanted to wear something green, so I took Unpredictable from the New Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection (Fall 2012).
Well, I am totally in love with this nail polish: it's one of my  favorites and I didn't want to take it off! The colors shift from green-gold to blue-teal with a rather strong change. In the shade you can clearly see the green-gold in the central part of the nail and the blue-teal on the sides. It's opaque in two coats (I didn't use any coloured base), and the only defect I can found in it are the brushstrokes, but the color is so beautiful that I forget them!

Per finire un acquisto non smaltoso!! Sempre da LA Splash ho visto un eyeliner liquido nero con uno shimmer blu notte e non ho resistito! (Per i due smalti e l'eyeliner ho speso € 11,00, anche se gli smalti dovevano costare € 5,00 l'uno!)

Finally a not-polish purchase! At the LA Splash booth I saw a black liquid eyeliner with a shimmer navy blue and I could'nt resist! (For the two polishes and the eyeliner I spent € 11,00, even if each polish was € 5,00!)
