EuRoPe Challenge #1 - Pizza manicure ft. Kiko 493 Vino Perlato

Buonasera a tutte e benvenute alla nostra nuova Challenge!
La nostra mitica GoldFrancine ha avuto l'idea di percorrere tutta l'Europa, un paese alla volta, nella nostra nuova Twinsie che ci accompagnerà per 13 settimane! Ne vedremo delle belle!! :-)
Oggi eccezionalmente postiamo di martedì dato che è il primo giorno di autunno (stamattina c'erano già 13°C, brrrrr!!), ma da venerdì prossimo continueremo a pubblicare ogni venerdì!
La prima puntata è dedicata all'Italia, e ho deciso di celebrarla con uno dei simboli italiani...la pizza!! Per l'indice e il medio ho usato invece uno smalto italiano, uno dei nuovi colori della Kiko, questo splendido rosso che la Kiko ha chiamato "Vino perlato". Su anulare e medio ho usato come base My vampire is buff e ho stampato con A-England Perceval con una plate della Cheeky, la CH41.

Our amazing GoldFrancine had the idea to travel throughout Europe, one country at a time, in our new Twinsie that will last 13 weeks! We will see some crazy gorgeousness !! :-) 
Today we exceptionally post on Tuesday, since it's the first day of Autumn (this morning Piacenza was breezing at 13 ° C!!). From 26th of September we will keep on posting every Friday! 
The first EuRoPe day is dedicated to Italy, and I decided to celebrate it with an Italian symbol... pizza!! On the index and on the middle finger I'm wearing an Italian nail polish, one of the new Kiko's colours, this beautiful red that Kiko called "Pearly Wine". On the ring and little finger I used as a base OPI My vampire is buff,  as a stamping nail polish A-England Perceval and  a Cheeky Plate, CH41.

Giardino d'inverno # 5 - Klimt inspired nail art

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Oggi, grazie a Rebenice, il Giardino d'Inverno s'ispira all'arte di Klimt!
Ho dato un'occhiata alle opere più famose di questo straordinario pittore, ma è molto difficile trasporre qualcosa di Klimt sulle unghie :-(
E poi ho visto L'albero della vita, con quel pattern di rami che diventano riccioli, e ho scoperto pure di avere una plate che ricorda quei riccioli (Cheeky Plate CH52)!
Ho usato il mio adorato color panna (OPI The vampire is buff) come base, l'oro definitivo per lo stamping (China Glaze Passion) e poi un dotter con un po' di nero e bianco.
Quello che vedete nelle foto è il risultato, mattificato alla fine. Spero vi piaccia!

Today, thanks to Rebenice, the Winter Garden is inspired by the art of Klimt! 
I checked the most famous works of this extraordinary painter, but it's very difficult to transpose something on my nails :-( 
And then I saw The Tree of life with that pattern of swirled branches: I have a plate which reminds that pattern (Cheeky Plate CH52)! 
 I used my beloved white cream (OPI The vampire is buff) as a base, a gold that I bought specially for stamping (China Glaze Passion) and then I used a dotter with a bit of black and white. 
What you see in the pictures below is the result, mattified at the end. Do you like it?

Despite my endless slowness today I post the last part of my review about the KKcenterHK plate  SPQQA21.

N.NAIL Animal Pattern Zebra Leopard Giraffe Tiger Stamp Plate

Dopo aver provato il pattern zebra e il pattern tigre, oggi è il turno del pattern giraffa, il primo a sinistra nella foto sopra.


After trying the zebra pattern and the tiger patterns, today is the turn of the giraffe pattern, the first on the left in the picture above.

Quando vi ho mostrato per la prima volta Briarwood di A-England vi avevo scritto che era molto pigmentato. Si potrà usare per lo stamping, vi chiederete voi? Io l'ho provato, e quello che vedete nelle foto è il risultato! La risposta per me è positiva ^___^
Purtroppo stavolta ho avuto un po' più fretta del solito, e il top coat ha sbavato lo stamping. A parte quello direi che sono molto soddisfatta di questa plate: non ho avuto problemi a riprodurre il pattern sull'unghia e le manicure sono proprio carine :-D



When I first showed you A-England Briarwood I wrote that it's very pigmented. Now you're going to ask yourself if it's good for stamping. I tried it, and here is the result! 
The answer is yes for me ^ ___ ^ 
Unfortunately this time I hadn't the patience to wait enough, and the top coat has smeared the stamping. Anyway I like this plate very much. I haven't had any problems to reproduce the pattern on the nails and the mani are nice :-D

Giardino d'inverno # 2 - Camouflage nails

Buongiorno a tutte!
Per questo nuovo appuntamento con il Giardino d'Inverno ho suggerito come tema una "tecnica di nail art". Molto vago, eh? A dir la verità quando l'ho proposto non avevo ancora pensato a cosa fare. A volte l'ispirazione giunge improvvisa, e stavolta è arrivata grazie a mio figlio. Ha disegnato una barca mimetica (ripresa da un episodio di Oggy e i maledetti scarafaggi) e mi è venuto in mente che avevo sempre desiderato provare una nail art mimetica :-)
Così ho preso il tutorial di Chalkboard Nails e ho provato a dare la mia interpretazione.

Ecco cosa ho usato:

Base color panna: OPI My vampire is buff
Nero:                   A-England Camelot
Giallo:                  Elevation Polish Streetside, NYC
Verde:                 Illamasqua Kink

For the second day of the Winter Garden I suggested as a theme a "technique of nail art." Very vague, isn't it? To tell you the truth, when I suggested this, I had no idea about what to do. Sometimes inspiration comes suddenly, and this time it has arrived thanks to my son. He drew a camouflage boat (taken from an episode of Oggy and the Cockroaches) and I thought that I had always wanted to try a camouflage nail art :-) 

So I took the tutorial from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails and that's what I did. 

Here's what I used: 

Cream base: OPI My vampire is buff 

Black:           A-England Camelot 

Yellow:          Elevation Polish Streetside, NYC 

Green:          Illamasqua Kink 

Top coat:      Butter London Matte Finish Shine Free Topcoat 

Brush:          Born Pretty Store Brush Nail Art 0000

Discontinued Day #7 - OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark Suede

Ciao a tutte e ben trovate al Discontinued Day di dicembre!!
Oggi vi mostrerò un solo smaltino: non so neanche bene perché ho scelto questo, ma avevo voglia di indossarlo ancora una volta, e secondo me in questo periodo sta benissimo!
Viene dalla collezione di smalti a finish suede che la OPI ha fatto uscire per l'Autunno 2009, ed è un viola melanzana con uno shimmer argentato molto forte.
La formula non l'ho trovata ottima: ho dato due passate, ma ce ne volevano almeno tre per una completa coprenza. Forse per l'età della boccetta? Non so! E poi la durata è davvero pessima: dura più o meno un giorno, dopodiché comincia a sbucciarsi subito, ma è un problema comune con questo finish.



Hello girls and welcome to the December Discontinued Day (DDD ^^)!
Today I will show you only one nail polish.I don't know why I chose this, but I wanted to wear it again, and I think that at this time of the year is great!
It comes from the Fall 2009 Suede Collection from OPI, and it's an eggplant purple with a very strong silvery shimmer.
I didn't find a perfect formula. I put two coats, but it need almost three for a perfect coverage. Perhaps it was caused by the age of this bottle? I don't know! It lasts more or less one day and then it starts to peel off, but it's a common problem with this finish.

Il colore rimane molto bello! Adesso vi mostro un paio di foto scattate con il top coat solo sull'anulare per mostrarvi la versione glossy. Io lo preferisco comunque in versione opaca!



However its color is very nice! Now I'm showing  you a couple of pictures taken with the top coat only on the ring finger to show you the glossy version. I still prefer it matte!

Battle of Planets # 2 - Mercury: OPI Warm & Fozzie

Ciao a tutte!!!
Pronte per un'altra puntata di Battle of Planets? Eccoci!!!
Il pianeta di oggi è Mercurio e il colore a lui associato è il bronzo o marrone. Ho scelto uno smalto su cui avevo grandi aspettative. In boccetta e negli swatch lo trovavo favoloso, invece alla fine è stata un po' una delusione, perché non trovo che mi stia bene sulle unghie, e lo vedo un po' meh!
Fa parte di una collezione bellissima della OPI, la Muppets Collection uscita a Natale 2011 e il colore....beh, il colore è molto difficile da descrivere. Mi viene il dubbio che non cada completamente nel range bronzo/marrone, ma che possa entrare nel range rame, ma voi me lo passate, vero? :-)
Comunque è pieno di microparticelle foil marroni, oro e rosse in una base trasparente. Questo fa sì che sia molto sheer, infatti nelle foto vedete tre passate. E' molto bello e particolare perché da lontano lo vedete bronzo, ma da vicino scoprite tutta la sua complessità perché vedete le particelle oro accanto alle rosse e così via! Colore stupendo, ma non me lo vedo addosso: è un vero peccato!
E' uno smalto che all'ombra dà il meglio di sé!

Are you ready for another episode of Battle of Planets? Here we are! 
Today we've got Mercury, associated with bronze or brown. I chose a nail polish on which I had high expectations. In the bottle and in the swatches online I thought it was amazing, but I was disappointed, because I don't find it good on my nails and I see it a little bit meh!
It's part of  the beautiful Muppets Collection released at Christmas 2011 and its color .... well, its color is very hard to describe. Now I think that it doesn't fit completely within the range bronze / brown, because it's close to copper, but I hope you will accept it, right? :-)
However, it's full of brown, gold and red micro foil particles in a transparent-jelly base. That's why it's very sheer. In the pictures below you'll see three coats. It 's very beautiful and special because it's bronze from afar, but closely you discover all its complexity because you see the gold particles next to red ones and so on! Gorgeous color, but I don't like it on me: it's a real shame!
It gives the best of himself in the shade!

Festa nazionale francese - Bastille Day manicure

Ciao a tutte e buona domenica!
Vi ricordate la manicure fatta per il giorno d'indipendenza americana? Con le mie amicicie ci abbiamo preso gusto, e oggi festeggiamo "Le 14 juillet", la festa nazionale francese ^____^
Ringrazio di cuore Francesca che ha organizzato questa giornata!
Ho deciso di fare delle bandiere francesi sulle unghie aiutandomi con lo striping tape. La mia accent invece è un top coat glitter su base bianca. Tanto per cambiare e per rendere un po' più estivo il tutto ho pensato a un rosso neon, Hedonist, dalla collezione Hed Kandi di Models Own. Lo stesso rosso viene ripreso dai glitterini matte di Razzmatazz della Lush Lacquer che ho usato per l'anulare, insieme al blu.
La base bianca la potete indovinare anche da sole, uso sempre la stessa ^___^ My boyfriend scales walls della OPI! E il blu invece è Why So Blue di H&M.

Do you remember what I did for the Indipendence Day? My nail polish friends and I liked it so much that today we've decided to celebrate the Bastille Day, the French national holiday ^ ____ ^
Thanks so much to Francesca who organized it all!
I decided to make some French flags on the nails with the help of my striping tape. My accent nail is a glitter top coat on a white base. Just to make something different and more summery, I thought to use a neon red, Hedonist, from the Hed Kandi Collection by Models Own. It's the same kind of red that you'll find in Razzmatazz by Lush Lacquer, a mix of red and blue matte glitter on my ring finger.
I think that you can guess which white base I used, 'cause it's always the same  ^ ___ ^  My boyfriend scales walls by OPI! For the blue I used Why So Blue by H&M.

Purtroppo non ho avuto la pazienza di aspettare l'asciugatura completa e quando ho steso il top coat sull'indice Why so blue ha un po' sbavato :-/

Indipendence nails - 4th of July

Ciao a tutte!!
Come avete visto dal titolo, sono felice di partecipare a una nuova iniziativa ideata dalla mia amicicia dalle mille idee Francesca per una nail art a tema giorno dell'Indipendenza americana! Fra parentesi vi confesserò che oggi è anche il giorno del patrono di Piacenza, Sant'Antonino, e quindi festeggiamo pure noi! ^___^

Ho pensato di fare una cosa super semplice e veloce. Le stripes bianche e rosse su tutte le unghie eccetto l'anulare, e le stars sulla accent nail su fondo blu notte  glitterato. Ho usato come base il mio caro vecchio My boyfriend scales walls OPI, striping tape e uno strato di To-Die-For della Ioni Cosmetics (smalto preso al Cosmoprof). Su tutto ho steso uno strato di Catherine Arley 128. Sull'anulare due strati di Tibetan Nights di Cirque, così bello che si meriterà un post a parte in futuro e un po' di stelline ^___^

I'm glad to participate in a new initiative created by my friend Francesca, a lady with a thousand of ideas, for a Fourth of July manicure! I will confess you that today is also the day of the patron saint of Piacenza, St. Anthony, and so we celebrate too! ^ ___ ^

I thought I would do something super quick and easy. The red and white stripes on all nails except the ring finger, and the stars on the accent nail over a glittery blue night. I used as a base my dear old My boyfriend scales walls by OPI, a striping tape and one coat of To-Die-For from Ioni Cosmetics (I bought this one at the Cosmoprof). Finally one coat of Catherine Arley 128, glitter holographic top coat. On the ring finger I put two coats of Tibetan Nights by Cirque, so gorgeous that it deserves a separate post in the future, and a bit of little stars ^ ___ ^

Giornata della Terra - Earth day

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Oggi celebriamo la Giornata della Terra. Inutile scrivervi di quanto sia importante che ognuno di noi possa dare il suo piccolo contributo per aiutare a salvaguardare il nostro pianeta. Dal risparmio delle risorse come l'acqua, l'energia elettrica o il petrolio, al riciclo dei rifiuti, ma anche l'insegnamento delle prime nozioni ambientali ai nostri figli sono le piccole cose che possiamo fare per allungarne la vita.
Io sto tentando di strappare mio figlio di 8 anni dalla sua pigrizia per imparare almeno a differenziare i rifiuti. Hanno fatto una lezione sul risparmio dell'acqua a scuola ed è rimasto molto colpito: da allora tiene i rubinetti aperti solo lo stretto necessario ^___^
La mia manicure di oggi è ispirata ai colori della Terra: per me la Terra è verde e marrone con tutte le sue sfumature, dal chiaro allo scuro, al rossiccio. Ho mischiato un po' di colori insieme ispirandomi anche a questa immagine del blog Top Coat it .
Purtroppo in questo week end abbiamo avuto pioggia quasi tutto il tempo e le foto non sono il massimo :-((

Today we celebrate the Earth Day. Needless to write to you how important it is that each one of us can give a small contribution to help preserve our planet. Little things can prolong its life: saving resources such as water, electricity or oil, recycling of waste, but also the teaching of environmental basics to our children.
I'm trying to wake up my 8 year old son from his laziness to learn at least how to differentiate waste. He had a lesson at school on saving water and he was very impressed. Since then he keeps our taps open only a little bit ^ ___ ^
My manicure is inspired by the colors of the earth: for me the earth is green and brown with all its shades, from light to dark. I mixed all these colors together and I also took inspiration from this picture from Top Coat it.
Unfortunately, this weekend we had rain almost all the time and the pics are not so good :-(

Floral manicure for spring!

Ciao ragazze!
Stasera vi mostrerò la manicure che posterò per il Crumpet Amateur Nail Art Contest - April aperto a tutti i blog con meno di 100 followers con un tema fisso che questo mese è quello dei fiori! Le votazioni partono dal 18 aprile direttamente sul sito.
Non ho assolutamente chissà quali aspirazioni, ma queste occasioni mi muovono a fare qualcosina in più, altrimenti la mia pigrizia avrebbe il sopravvento ^___^
Per la base ho spugnato un bel po' di pastelli su base bianca: giallo, rosa, verde menta, celeste e lilla.
Sopra ho applicato i fiorellini con un dotting tool e messo qualche perlina argentata per le corolle.

Tonight I'll show you the manicure that I will post for the Amateur Crumpet Nail Art Contest - April. It's open to all blogs with less than 100 followers with a fixed theme. The april theme is flowers! Voting start from April 18th on Crumpet web site.
These occasions are important for me because they push me to do something more than usual, otherwise my laziness would prevail ^ ___ ^
For the base I sponged a lot of pastels on a white base: yellow, pink, mint green, sky blue and lilac.
I applied some little flowers with a dotting tool and put some silver beads for the petals.

St. Patrick in green and gold

Ciao a tutte!!
Oggi festeggio San Patrizio insieme alle mie amiche smaltare: quale occasione migliore per un tripudio di verdi sui blog? San Patrizio m'ispirava anche l'oro, come l'oro della pentola in fondo all'arcobaleno, così ho deciso di mostrarvi prima un verde e poi un oro.
Per il verde ho scelto Coveted di Cult Nails, dalla collezione Behind Closed Doors dell'Autunno-Inverno 2012.
La base è un jelly con shimmer verde pieno di grossi flakies di varie dimensioni, verdi, metallici e simil glitter: diciamo che sono una via di mezzo fra i flakies e i glitter!
Per avere una coprenza totale ci vogliono tre passate, ma asciuga molto velocemente e la formula è ottima! Consiglio di mettere un top coat alla fine anche perché la sera non l'avevo messo e il giorno dopo i flakies hanno cominciato a sbucciarsi e diventare metallici.

Today I celebrate St. Patrick's together with my polish friends: what better occasion for an explosion of green on the blogs? St. Patrick's inspired me the gold colour too, like the gold pot at the end of the rainbow, so I decided to show you one green polish and one gold polish.
For the green I chose Coveted by Cult Nails from the Behind Close Doors Collection Fall-Winter 2012.
The base is a jelly with a green shimmer full of big flakies of various sizes, green, metallic and glitter- like.
It takes three coates to get a total coverage, but it dries very quickly.
 I suggest to put a top coat because I hadn't put it and the flakies started to peel, to lose the green colour and they became metallic.

Per l'oro vi mostro Goldeneye di Opi, collezione Skyfall Natale 2012. Questo colore mi è piaciuto moltissimo: ha un finish molto particolare: è pieno di particelle glitter ultrafini che danno un effetto finale glassflecks! E' un oro molto caldo, che vira un po' verso il rame.
Molto più trasparente di Coveted: per una coprenza decente ci vogliono almeno tre passate, ma anche qua ho trovato l'asciugatura molto veloce!
Nella foto vedete la boccetta di Seche Vite perché ho preso il mini set di Skyfall e la miniboccetta si afferra proprio male :-)


For the gold one I show you Goldeneye from the Opi Skyfall Collection Holidays 2012. I loved this colour: it has a very special finish. It's filled with ultra-fine glitter particles that give a glassflecks final effect! It's a very warm gold, close to copper.
It's sheerer than Coveted: it takes at least three coats for a decent coverage, but it dried very fast.
In the picture you'll see the bottle of Seche Vite because I bought the mini-set of Skyfall and you grab the minibottle very badly :-)

The Rainbow Ladies - Orange: Jelly Sandwich con OPI Y'all come back ya hear?

Ciao a tutte!!
Oggi c'è il secondo appuntamento con le Rainbow Ladies e con  l'arancione! Colore difficile questo. Non lo porto quasi mai, e non me lo vedo bene sulle mie unghie, quindi ho anche pochissimi arancioni nell'helmer. Ho scelto di mostrarvi questo Opi, un arancio clementino proveniente dalla collezione Texas della Primavera 2011, soprattutto perché è un jelly (o sorbet secondo la definizione della Opi) ed era un sacco di tempo che volevo provare il jelly sandwich, ossia uno o più strati di glitter immersi in uno smalto semi-trasparente.
Per il glitter inizialmente avevo pensato a un Barry M, l'Hologram, che dalla boccetta sembrava strepitoso: base trasparente e glitter esagonali (tutti uguali) olografici.
Invece poi mi sono dovuta ricredere: con uno strato sopra due di Opi venivano fuori due o tre glitterini per unghia. Se provavo a mettere più smalto con una passata la base trasparente mi formava dei goccioloni inasciugabili, o peggio, alla fine formava uno strato pieno di bolle! Orrore! Qui urgeva una soluzione, e così ho pensato di aggiungere uno strato di un altro glitter che avevo sotto mano, con dei colori che potessero stare bene con l'arancione, ed è venuto in mio aiuto un altro Girly Bits della collezione Halloween 2012, Candy Corn. Candy Corn è fighissimo, e mi piacerebbe provarlo con un'altra base per fargli dare il meglio di sé, ma penso abbia fatto il suo lavoro anche qua! E' un mix di glitter del colore dei Candy Corn americani, bianco, giallo oro e arancio/rosso di tutte le dimensioni, quadrati, esagonali con anche delle barrette bianche, e con una passata ne vengono su un sacco.

Così lo preferisco. Gli esperimenti però non sono ancora terminati: sapete che quando posso io aggiungo sempre un top coat matte per vedere l'effetto? Ecco allora la foto in versione matte:
