Battle of Planets # 11 - Neptune: China Glaze Scandalous Shenanigans

Buongiorno ragazze!!
Questa settimana trionfa il blu sul blog! Oggi la Battle of Planets è dedicata a Nettuno, il pianeta più gelido del sistema solare. Il suo nome è dedicato al dio del mare, e non potevamo non scegliere il blu per celebrarlo! Non solo, leggo da Wikipedia: "Le tracce di metano presenti negli strati più esterni dell'atmosfera contribuiscono a conferire al pianeta Nettuno il suo caratteristico colore azzurro intenso".
Oggi vi mostrerò uno smalto abbastanza recente, viene dalla collezione Autunno 2013 di China Glaze, la Autumn Nights, ed è stata una bella scoperta, perché mi è piaciuto molto di più di quello che pensavo! Uno splendido blu metallico, non troppo scuro e coprente alla prima passata!

We have the blue week on the blog ^__^! Today the Battle of the Planets is dedicated to Neptune, the coldest planet of the solar system. His name is dedicated to the god of the sea, and we had to choose the blue to celebrate it! More, I read from Wikipedia: "Traces of methane in the outermost regions in part account for the planet's blue appearance".

Today I will show you a nail polish which comes from the China Glaze Fall 2013 Collection, Autumn Nights. It was a nice discovery, because I liked it much more than I thought! A beautiful metallic blue, not too dark and a perfect one coater!

Comparison di blu della Kiko Sugar Mat: #457 Royal Blue vs #644 Sea Blue

Ciauuuuu!!!
Post super veloce che mi ha suggerito la mia amicicia Rebenice. Lo smalto che ho swatchato l'altro giorno, il #457 della Kiko, assomiglia molto all'altro sugar mat blu che avevano fatto uscire la scorsa primavera-estate, ossia il #644. Ma quanto ci assomiglia? Vediamo le foto!

Very quick post suggested by my lovely friend Rebenice. The polish that I swatched the other day, Kiko  #457, is very similar to another blue sugar mat which came out last spring-summer, the # 644. How close are they? Let's see the pictures!

Come formula sono un po' diversi: il 644 è molto più coprente, quasi un one coater, anche se qui ho dato due passate, mentre il 457 è più trasparente alla prima passata, ma poi recupera molto alla seconda.
Il 644 ha uno shimmer argento, mentre il 457 ce l'ha azzurro, con delle microparticelle fuchsia che si vedono solo da molto vicino, ma che conferiscono una tonalità un po' più blurple all'insieme. Anche il blu di base mi sembra un po' diverso, il 644 è un po' più chiaro e polveroso del 457.



Their formula is different. 644 is much more opaque, almost a one coater, although here I have put two coats. 457 is sheerer with the first coat, but completely opaque with the second coat.
644 has a silver shimmer, while 457 has got a blue shimmer with some fuchsia microparticles almost invisible, but which give a blurple tone to the whole color. 644 is also lighter than 457 and a little bit dusty.

Kiko Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer #457 Royal Blue

Buongiorno fanciulle!!
Con l'edizione limitata Digital Emotion la Kiko ha lanciato per questo Natale un set di 8 nuovi smalti Sugar Mat; gli smalti non si possono comprare singolarmente e il set costa € 19,90. E' vero che, facendo i conti vengono € 2,48 l'uno, quindi si risparmia un po' rispetto agli smalti della linea permanente, però dovete essere un po' come me, maniache degli smalti texture, per buttarvi sull'acquisto. Io l'ho fatto, anche perché i colori mi piacevano tutti dalla boccetta, e oggi vi mostrerò uno dei miei preferiti, il Royal Blue ^^

With the Digital Emotion limited edition Kiko put out this Christmas a set of 8 new Sugar Mat nail polishes. They cannot be purchased individually and the price for the whole set is € 19,90. Each bottle is € 2,48 while the permanent line is € 2,90, but you have to be a texture aholic like me to buy this set ^^. I did it, because I liked all the colors from the bottles, and today I'll show you one of my favourites, #457, the Royal Blue ^ ^

Lo trovo davvero bellissimo, anche perché è pieno di glitterini azzurri e fuxia che brillano sotto ogni tipo di luce, anche senza sole ^^



I find it really beautiful, because it's full of blue and fuchsia little glitters that sparkle under any light, even without sun ^ ^

Battle of Planets # 10 - Uranus: Kiko Celebration Nail Lacquer # 423 Pearly Peacock

Buongiorno ragazze!!
Finalmente siamo arrivate (a venerdì? Sì, sono felice anche per quello ^^) al giorno dedicato a Urano: abbiamo deciso di associargli il verde, che è uno dei colori che preferisco sulle unghie!
Ho scelto un verde foil davvero brillantissimo che mi tira un po' su il morale in queste giornate grigie (e infatti non l'ho ancora tolto ^^). Si tratta del Kiko Pearly Peacock della LE Celebration uscita la scorsa estate: è un verde smeraldo davvero lucente, coprente in due passate, nessun problema da segnalare.
Lo trovo così bello che ve lo mostro nudo e crudo :-)

Finally it's (Friday? Yes, I'm happy for that, too ^ ^) the day dedicated to Uranus! We decided to associate it to the green color, which is one of my favorite on my nails!
I chose a really bright green foil that cheers me up in these grey days (and in fact I'm still wearing it). This is Kiko Pearly Peacock from the last summer's LE Celebration.  It's a really shiny emerald green, opaque in two coats, no problems to report.
I find it so beautiful that I'll show you without any nail art.

Battle of Planets # 9 - Saturn: H&M Purple flash ft. Kiko Mirror Nail Lacquer 621 + China Glaze Midnight ride

Buongiorno ragazze!!
Oggi vi porto su Saturno! ^___^ Non è uno dei più belli in assoluto grazie al suo anello? E il colore a lui associato è il viola, meglio di così non avrei potuto chiedere!!
Per celebrarlo degnamente ho trovato una stamping plate con dei piccoli pianeti Saturno, quale occasione migliore di oggi per provarla?
Su tutte le dita eccetto l'anulare ho messo un viola foil, il Purple Flash di H&M, comprato ormai più di un anno fa quando sono entrata in un H&M a fare razzia di smalti ^^ Peccato che non ce ne sia uno nella mia città! Comunque il colore è bellissimo, sarà che sono innamorata di questo finish! Ed è quasi un camaleonte: vedrete nelle foto quanto cambia a seconda della luce! E' anche molto pigmentato; nelle foto ho dato due passate, ma ne basterebbe quasi una abbondante!
Per la accent ho usato una base viola scurissimo, quasi nero, il CG Midnight ride, su cui ho stampato con il Kiko mirror viola 621, il Violetto utilizzando la Cheeky plate CH46, la stessa che avevo usato per la Luna :-)

Today I take you on Saturn ! ^ ___ ^ It's one of my favourite planets thanks to its ring! And we're all wearing purple on our nails, I couldn't ask better!
I found a stamping plate with a design full of small Saturns, and I had to try it today!
On all fingers except the ring finger I put a purple foil, H&M Purple Flash, bought last year. Too bad that there aren't H&M stores in my town ! However, the color is beautiful and I'm in love with this finish! It's almost a chameleon: can you see in these pictures how much it changes depending from the light? It's also very pigmented, almost a one coater. I put two coats in the pictures below.
For the accent I used a purple base very dark , almost black, CG Midnight ride, on which I printed with Kiko mirror 621, Violet, and with the Cheeky plate CH46 , the same that I used for the Moon :-)

Ebalay Baby Blue Shiny Glitter Nail Polish

Buongiorno!!
Oggi per voi ho un topper glitter che mi ha gentilmente mandato Maggie di KKcenterHK, il Baby Blue Shiny Glitter Nail Polish della Ebalay!! Quando mi hanno proposto uno smalto glitter ero entusiasta all'idea, dato che adoro i glitter, e mi piaceva questo dall'immagine vista sul sito, ma devo dire che dal vivo mi ha piacevolmente sorpreso!
Infatti sospesi in una base trasparente ci sono: glitter esagonali verde acqua metallici, bianchi di diverse dimensioni, mini barrette bianche, e, nascosti in mezzo a tutto il resto, dei glitterini blu scuri metallici, che risaltano un sacco su basi scure!
Ho pensato di mostrarvelo su basi diverse, e ho creato una specie di ombre sulla tonalità del verde acqua/teal usando finish diversi.
Ecco cosa ho usato:
indice: A-England Camelot
medio: Barry M Gelly Blackberry
anulare: Shaka Turquoise
mignolo: Essence Always in my mint

Today I'm showing you a glitter topper kindly sent to me by Maggie from KKcenterHK, Ebalay Baby Blue Shiny Glitter Nail Polish! When Maggie asked me if I was interested in a glitter nail polish I was very excited, because I love glitters. I liked this from the picture on their web site, but IRL is much better!
You can find in a transparent base: hexagonal metallic teal glitters, hexagonal white glitters in different sizes, white mini bars, and, almost hidden amongst the others, some shiny dark blue glitters, especially visible over dark bases!
I chose to show it over a sort of an ombre mani, using the teal color family.

Bello, vero? Questo è il risultato di una sola mano di Ebalay sulle altre basi, e sapete cos'altro mi ha stupito? Che asciuga lucidissimo, e se non fosse per la consistenza 3D dei glitter, sarebbe liscissimo anche al tatto, al contrario di molti altri smalti glitter che necessitano di strati di top coat per risultare meno ruvidi!!

Beautiful, isn't it? This is the result of one coat of Ebalay over the other bases. There's another bonus in this polish: it dries glossy, there's almost no need of a top coat. It's not so rough to the touch like the most part of glitter nail polishes!

Battle of Planets # 8 - Jupiter: A-England Holy Grail (old version)

Buongiorno ragazze, e buon venerdì!!
Oggi sbarchiamo sul pianeta Giove e vestiremo tutte le nostre unghie di giallo! Trovare un giallo con un finish metallico o foil non è affatto semplice. Scavando nel mio stash ho trovato solo questo oro, che però è un oro molto giallo ^___^
E' un altro A-England, spero non vi siate stufate di questa marca! :-) Io no, anche perché devo dire che questo oro mi ha piacevolmente sorpreso sulle unghie: mi piace davvero molto!!
Lo trovo molto regale, e così ho deciso di arricchirlo con una pietra gioiello azzurra comprata da Viva la nails tempo fa. Che ve ne pare del risultato?

Today we land on the planet Jupiter and all of our nails will be yellow-dressed! I admit that finding a yellow nail polish with a metallic or foil finish isn't easy. Digging into my stash I only found this gold, but it's a yellowish gold ^ ___ ^
It 's another A-England, I hope you're not tired of this brand! :-) I do not, because I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by this gold on my nails: I really like it!
I find it very regal, and so I decided to enrich it with a blue jewel stone bought from Viva la nails some time ago. What do you think of the result?

Discontinued Day #6 - Essence Floral Grunge LE: Grunge me tender and Black to the roots

Ciao a tutte!!
Eccoci arrivate al sesto appuntamento con il Discontinued Day!
Per oggi ho scelto due smalti provenienti dalla collezione Essence della scorsa primavera, la Floral Grunge. Peccato non essere riuscita a recuperare il viola, perché era proprio un colore interessante!
Il primo che vi mostro è il verdolino, Grunge me tender. E' un verde menta molto chiaro con un lievissimo shimmer argento e dal finish satinato. Nelle foto si vede appena, se ingrandite l'immagine, ma contate che sono state fatte senza sole. Ecco, l'unica cosa positiva di questo smalto è il colore e il finish, ma la formula l'ho trovata abbastanza terribile! La cosa peggiore è che appena lo si stende tende a depositarsi sui lati dell'unghia, lasciando un bel buco nel mezzo, buco che non si riesce a riempire neanche continuando a mettere strati su strati. Per una buona coprenza ci vogliono dalle tre alla quattro passate.

Today is the 6th Discontinued Day!
I chose two polishes from the last spring Essence LE, Floral Grunge . Unfortunately I didn't find the purple one, it could have been an interesting color!
I'll show you the green one first, Grunge Me Tender. It's a very light mint green with a hidden silver shimmer and a semi-matte finish . You can barely see its shimmer in these pictures, if you zoom the image. I only loved color and finish of this nail polish, because its formula is awful! The worst thing is that as soon as you put it on the nail, it goes towards the sides, leaving a big hole in the middle. You'll  be unable to fill it even with coats and coats. For a good coverage it takes from three to four coats. 

Il secondo ve l'avevo già mostrato con una nail art, e adesso lo vedrete da solo. Questo è sicuramente il mio preferito, sia per come sta sulle unghie (conoscete la mia passione per gli smalti scuri :-) ), sia per la formula, che stavolta direi ottima! Opaco in due passate, liscio e fluido, asciuga velocemente con un finish matte e leggermente tridimensionale grazie ai glitterini argento di cui è intriso.



I already showed you the second one with a nail art, and now you'll see it on its own. This is definitely a favorite. I love it on the nails (you know how much I love dark nail polishes) and I love its formula. Opaque in two coats, smooth and fluid, quick-drying with a matte finish and slightly three-dimensional because it's full of little silver glitters.

Battle of Planets # 7 - Asteroids: Essie Steel-ing the scene

Buongiorno a tutte!!
Oggi post programmato: ho approfittato del week end lungo per andare al Lago di Ledro con tutta la famiglia! La Battaglia dei Pianeti si combatte comunque ^^ : pioggia di asteroidi sui nostri blog e il colore dominante sarà il grigio!
Lo smalto che ho scelto mi convinceva più dalla boccetta che sulle unghie. Viene da una vecchia collezione della Essie, addirittura Inverno 2007; è un chrome color acciaio dai sottotoni gialli. Opaco in due passate, si vedono un po' di brushstrokes, ma neanche troppo!

Today scheduled post. This week we have a long week end, so I decided to pack two or three clothes and go to the Ledro Lake with my family! For our Battle of Planets today we'll see an asteroid shower on our blogs and the main color is grey!
I chose a polish that is better from the bottle than on the nails. It comes from an old Essie collection, Winter 2007, and it's a chrome steel with yellow undertones. Opaque in two coats, with not so much brushstrokes ^^

Da solo però non mi convince molto, quindi ho pensato di "abbellirlo" con una nail art. Questo grigio non mi ha ispirato molto a dir la verità: un po' di fail ed ecco cosa mi è uscito.
Ho fatto una gradient con il Layla Magneffect # 01 Black metal touch sulle punte e poi ho aggiunto il top coat glitterato Froze to Death di Elevation Polish (ottimo per nail art invernali! :-) ). Cosa ve ne pare?



I don't like it very much on its own, so I decided to try a nail art. After a few fails I came up with this one. 
I did a gradient with Layla Magneffect # 01 Black metal touch on the tips and then I added the glitter top coat Froze to Death by Elevation Polish (great for a winter nail art :-)). What do you think about it?
