Discontinued Day #17 - Catrice LE Arts Collection in: Forevergreen and Bronze-Deco

Buonasera a tutte!!
Il Discontinued Day è il giorno in cui mi diverto a tirare fuori dai cassetti pezzi di collezioni ormai introvabili, comprate da tempo e mai swatchate.
Oggi è la volta di questa bella collezione di foil della Catrice. Ne avevo presi tre, fra cui il rosa, e oggi ve ne mostrerò soltanto due.
Bronze-Deco è un oro foil caldo e un po' aranciato. L'oro da solo sulle unghie non mi fa impazzire, ma questo non mi è dispiaciuto, forse perché non è un oro vero e proprio! Due passate e nessun problema di stesura (senza top coat nelle foto)

I love the Discontinued Day because I always find some discontinued and old limited edition not yet swatched and bought some time ago...
Today you're going to see this beautiful collection of foils by Catrice. I'll show you only two of them, but I bought also the pink one.

Bronze Deco is a warm orange-gold foil. I don't like so much a full gold manicure, but this one is quite pretty! Two coats and a good formula (no top coat in the pics below).

Devo dire che suo fratello verde è decisamente più nelle mie corde, anzi, lo adoro!!

Holothon 2.0 - # 13 : Foxy Paws And a Partridge In a Pear Tree

Buonasera a tutte!!
E' molto tardi e sarò rapidissima!

Per questo penultimo appuntamento con la Holothon ho scelto un indie danese della Foxy Paws. E' un  holo soft linear, ossia linear, ma dall'effetto abbastanza discreto, proveniente dalla collezione natalizia dell'anno scorso Christmas Holos. In effetti lo vedo come un colore piuttosto invernale, un verde grigio molto delicato. Non mi fa impazzire come colore, però quando vedo un holo non capisco più niente, e il finish lo salva!

Due passate senza top coat nelle foto che seguono.

It's late and this will be a very quick post!
For this penultimate Holothon day I chose a Danish indie from Foxy Paws. It's a soft holo linear coming from the last year Christmas Holos Collection. In fact I see it as a wintery colour, a very delicate grey-green. I'm not a fan of this color, but it's a holo anyway, and this saved it! :-)

Quante di voi conoscevano questa pietra prima che la Chanel lanciasse il famosissimo Peridot? Io no, però trovo che sia una pietra bellissima!
Ho scelto per rappresentarla uno dei numerosi dupes del Peridot di Chanel, lo Shaka Bronze, un multichrome che copre tutti i colori della pietra, dall'oro al bronzo al verde. All'ombra si possono vedere tutti comodamente!!



How many of you knew this stone before the well-known Chanel Peridot? I do not, but I find it a beautiful stone! 
I chose a Chanel Peridot dupe to represent it, Shaka Bronze, a multichrome that covers all the peridot colors, from gold to bronze to green. In the shade you can see them all without any problem!!

E poi, dato che mi piace giocare con i top coat, ho provato a dargli qualche sbrillo olografico, aggiungendo una passata di Elevation Polish Aguja St. Exupery.


And then, since I like playing with top coats, I added some holographic bling, with a coat of Elevation Polish Aguja St. Exupery.

Discontinued Day #13 - Kiko Sun Pearl LE in # 428 River Green and #429 Blue Spot

Buonasera ragazze!!
Per il Discontinued Day di questo mese torno a mostrarvi dei Kiko della scorsa estate, e precisamente i due colori che mi mancava di swatchare della Sun Pearl LE. Il terzo che ho comprato è il  # 427 Amable Chartreuse.
River Green dalla boccetta era il mio preferito della collezione. Uno splendido verde foresta dal sottotono leggermente blu in una mare di glassflecks dorati, coprente in due passate.

For the July's Discontinued Day I'll show you two more Kiko from the discontinued last summer LE Sun Pearl. I bought a third one from this LE: #427 Amable Chartreuse. 
Green River was my favourite from the bottle. A beautiful pine green with a slightly blue undertone full of ​​golden glassflecks, covering in two coats.

Quando però ho indossato Blue Spot mi sono ricreduta: l'ho trovato molto più bello sulle unghie che in boccetta, ed è salito al pari merito con River Green come preferito della Sun Pearl.
E' quasi un one coater: se avete le unghie corte vi basterà una passata, se le avete lunghe con una seconda passata sottile siete a posto.
Uno splendido blu intriso di glass flecks argentee, ma più discrete di quelle dorate di River Green.



But when I wore Blue Spot I changed my mind.  I prefer it on my nails than in the bottle, and it's now a favourite for me!
It 's almost a one coater.  If you have short nails you need just one coat; I have longer nails and needed two thin coats.
It's a beautiful medium blue full of silver glassflecks, softer than River Green.

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 13 - Rainbow - Fan brush rainbow nail art

Buonasera figliole!!
Sembra incredibile, ma siamo arrivate alla fine della nostra challenge che ha ripreso i colori dell'arcobaleno.
Come l'anno scorso l'ultimo post è dedicato all'arcobaleno con i suoi 7 colori. Pensa che ripensa ho deciso di riprovare a usare un pennello che mi aveva dato discrete soddisfazioni durante la Battle of Planets, ossia il fan brush. Avendo pochissimo tempo in questo periodo, poteva essere la nail art ideale. Peccato che il risultato finale non sia stato proprio il massimo, pazienza: spero apprezzerete ugualmente! In ogni caso dovrò riprovarci ancora ^___^

Ho usato come base un celeste pastello della Flormar, il 423, a imitare il colore del cielo. Poi ho steso i 7 smalti dei 7 colori dell'iride su carta stagnola e ho intinto il fan brush usando circa tre colori per unghia sulla base celeste.
Ho usato:

rosso: Illamasqua Alarm
arancione: Essie Capri
giallo: Butter London Cheeky Chops
verde: Kiko 391Verde Erba
blu: Kiko 336 Blu elettrico
viola: Shaka Purple music
indaco: Barry M Indigo

It seems incredible, but that's the last Rainbow Ladies 2.0 day!
Like last year, the latest post is dedicated to the rainbow with its seven colours. I decided to try again the fan brush, which gave me so much fun during the Battle of Planets. In addition it's a very quick nail art, and now I'm always in the hurry and have no time for painting my nails. The result it's not what I expected from that but, huh, I hope you'll like it anyway! 
I'll have to try it again ^ ___ ^

I used as base a Flormar pastel blue, # 423, to suggest the colour of the sky. Then I put some drops of the 7 colours of the rainbow over an aluminum sheet and I dipped in the fan brush. I used about three colours per nail, and exactly:

Red:         Illamasqua Alarm
Orange:   Essie Capri
Yellow:    Butter London Cheeky Chops
Green:    Kiko 391Green Grass
Blue:       Kiko 336 Electric Blue
Purple:   Shaka Purple music
Indigo:    Barry M Indigo

And here is what it came out ...

Birthstone Challenge # 5 - Emerald: Color Club Metamorphosis

Buonasera a tutte!!
Oggi torna la Birthstone Challenge, con una splendida pietra verde, lo smeraldo!!
Ho scelto di vestire le mie unghie con uno dei Color Club che ho preso all'ultimo Cosmoprof, Metamorphosis, dalla Take Wing Collection del 2012, una collezione intera di foil!
Questo è un verde smeraldo dai sottotoni blu, che accende letteralmente le unghie quando lo avete indosso: quasi come avere delle pietre preziose sulle unghie :-D
E' un po' sheer: tre passate per una coprenza perfetta, anche se nelle foto ne vedrete solo due senza top coat.

Today the Birthstone Challenge is back, with a beautiful green stone, the emerald! 
I chose to wear a Color Club bought at the last Cosmoprof, Metamorphosis, from the Take Wing Summer Collection 2012, an entire collection of foil!
This is an emerald green with some blue undertones, which turns your nails into some precious stones :-D
It's a little bit sheer. Three coats for a perfect coverage, even if you'll see two coats without top coat in the pictures below.

Cadillacquer - The End Begins

Ciao a tutte!!
Oggi vi mostrerò lo smalto che avevo pensato inizialmente di postare per la Rainbow di ieri.
La Cadillacquer è un brand indie svizzero molto interessante: è in territorio europeo, ma a rischio di dogana. Personalmente non ho avuto problemi, ma forse sono solo stata fortunata.
Viene dalla Dexter Collection: per me è un motivo in più per amare questo smalto, dato che sono fan sfegatata della serie tv! Ma non solo: è un colore davvero unico. Base jelly verde foresta in cui sono immersi piccoli glitter dorati e un forte shimmer color rame. Due passate + top coat nelle foto sotto.

Today I 'm showing you the polish that I wanted to post yesterday for the Rainbow Ladies 2.0. 

Cadillacquer is a very interesting Swiss indie brand. It's in Europe, but not custom free. Personally I had no problems, but maybe I've been just lucky. 

It comes from the Dexter Collection: for me it's one more reason to love this nail polish, since I'm a big fan of the TV series! But it's not only for this reason. It's a unique colour. It has a green forest jelly base full of golden little glitters and a strong copper shimmer. You'll see two coats and top coat in the pictures below.

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 7 - Green - Models Own Green Tea

Buonasera a tutte!!
Benvenute all'appuntamento settimanale con la Rainbow 2.0: il colore di oggi è il verde! Avevo un altro progetto in mente oggi, ma leggendo i post di Cristina e Silvia Lace mi sono resa conto che anche il mio verde non rispettava le regole che prevedono nail art o smalti tono su tono. Dovrei riuscire comunque a pubblicarlo questo week end, dato che è tutto pronto!
Fortunatamente avevo delle foto pronte "from the Vault" che non avevo ancora pubblicato, e così oggi va in scena Green Tea della Models Own!
E'un bellissimo verde medio, di una tonalità che si avvicina a quella di un prato primaverile, e ha un finish rubber: matte, ma gommoso.
Opaco in due passate, eccolo tutto per voi :-)

I think I'll post it this week end, because it's all ready! But now let me introduce you Green Tea by Models Own which was waiting in my Vault!
It's a beautiful grass green with a rubber finish, covering in two easy coats. Here it is!

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 6 - Yellow - WJ Con Burlesque LE # 01

Ciao a tutte!!
Benvenute al nuovo appuntamento delle Rainbow Ladies che ci porta un colore un po' controverso, il giallo. Per le unghie è un colore un po' difficile da portare, nonostante sia molto estivo e allegro. Ne ho pochissimi, la maggior parte già swatchati, e così ho deciso di scegliere un oro caldo, quasi giallo. Finalmente ho potuto provare il mio primo WJ Con dopo averne letto benissimo su molti blog, e dopo moltissimo tempo torno a postare un duochrome!
Questo colore lo trovo davvero favoloso: è un oro molto caldo, dai fortissimi riflessi verde oliva. Vi assicuro che non c'è da fare contorsioni per vedere il cambio di colore, e la formula è davvero ottima: due passate in tutta tranquillità!

Welcome back to Rainbow Ladies 2.0 with a problematic colour, yellow. Even if it's a summery and cheerful colour, it's so hard to wear. I have very few yellows in my stash, most of them already swatched, and so I decided to choose a warm gold, almost yellow. I finally tried my first WJ Con, so well-known among all the bloggers, and it's a duochrome!!
I find it gorgeous. It's a very warm gold, which turn to an olive green. I assure you that the colour change is quite obvious, and the formula is really great: two coats and that's all!

Rainbow Ladies 2.0 # 5 - Easter Colours - Kiko Cupcake 650 + 655

Ciao a tutte!!
Mancano due giorni a Pasqua e il tema della Rainbow di oggi sono i colori pasquali!
Ho scelto i due Kiko Cupcake che ho preso, anche perché mi piace come stanno insieme: sono il 650 Pesca e il 655 Menta. Fra l'altro in questo momento sono scontati a € 2,90 l'uno :-)
Ho steso due mani di Pesca su tutte le dita eccetto l'anulare, dove ho utilizzato il Menta, e poi ho messo un po' di pallini alternando i due colori.

It's almost Easter and today we explore the Easter Colours with our Rainbow 2.0!

I chose the two Kiko cupcake bought lately. I like them very much and I also like how they match together: 650 Peach and 655 Mint.

Furthermore now they are €2,90/each with a 40% discount.

I have put two coats of Peach on all fingers except the ring finger, where I used Mint, and then I put some dots here and there.

Giardino d'inverno # 10 - Vintage roses

Buongiorno a tutte!!!
Sembra incredibile che siamo arrivate all'ultimo appuntamento con il Giardino d'Inverno!! Ed è anche stato il primo inverno quasi senza neve e con pochissimo ghiaccio da quando abito nella Pianura Padana (e sono 10 anni quest'anno)!
Per festeggiare questa primavera in anticipo ho deciso di onorare il tema di oggi, che è quello floreale suggerito dalla nostra Silvia, con dei colori brillanti: fucsia, bianco e verde!
Ho anche pensato di utilizzare la mia tecnica preferita, che ormai saprete anche voi, è lo stamping! Ma, con una piccola aggiunta. Ho usato due colori per stampare, uno principalmente per i petali delle rose, e l'altro per le foglie, anche se poi si sono mischiati insieme, come doveva essere.
Il risultato mi ha ricordato delle rose un po' vintage, da cui il titolo.

Ecco cos'ho utilizzato:

It seems incredible that today is the last Winter Garden Day! It has been also the first winter with almost no snow and very little ice here in the Po Valley since I moved from Tuscany 10 years ago!
Today's theme has been suggested by the lovely Silvia, and it's Flowers. I decided to celebrate this early spring with bright colors: fuchsia, white and green.
I also used my favorite technique , which is the stamping! But, with a little addition. 
I used two stamping nail polishes, one primarily for the petals of the roses, and the other for the leaves, even if they are mixed together, as it should be.
The result reminded me some vintage roses, hence the title.

Here's what I used:

Discontinued Day #8 - Pupa Glittering Nail Kit in Faboulous Green

Dopo la pausa natalizia torna l'appuntamento mensile con il Discontinued Day! Questo mese vi presento un kit della Pupa uscito a Natale 2012 e che mi è stato regalato da una cara amica.
Si compone di tre smalti: una base/top coat trasparente, una lacca verde scuro e un top coat glitter da stendere sulla base verde. I tre smalti sono racchiusi in una graziosa pochette verde smeraldo metallizzata.

After the Christmas break the Discontinued Day is back! 
Let me introduce you to a kit released by Pupa in Christmas 2012, a present from a lovely friend of mine. 
We find three nail polishes: a clear base/top coat, a dark green creme and a glitter top coat. The three nail polishes fit in a lovely emerald green metallic clutch.

Dopo aver steso la base trasparente (N171) ho dato una passata di smalto verde (N201). Devo dire che ho trovato la qualità di questo verde davvero ottima! E' molto coprente, quasi un one coater, e la formula è perfetta. Meno male, dato il prezzo allucinante di queste mini boccette!
Sicuramente lo utilizzerò ancora, specialmente come base per nail art.

After applying the clear base (N171) I put a coat of the green creme (N201). I must say that I found the quality of this green really good! It's almost a one coater, and its formula is perfect. Not so perfect is the price, in my honest opinion too high for these mini-bottles (5 ml each).

I definitely will use it again, especially for nail art.

Il top coat glitterato (N230) si presenta come un mix di glitter esagonali verdi metallici grandi e miniglitter dorati e blu metallici sospesi in una base trasparente. Ho steso due passate su tutte le dita escluso l'anulare e una sola passata sull'anulare per mostrarvi la densità dei glitter, che non è molto alta.


The glitter top coat (N230) it's a mix of big hexagonal metallic green glitters, gold and blue metallic microglitters suspended in a clear base. I have applied two coats on all fingers except the ring finger,  and one coat on the ring finger to show you the glitter payoff, which is not very high.

Per lucidare la superficie ho steso anche una passata di top coat trasparente.
Che ve ne pare? Lo trovo molto carino. L'unica cosa negativa di questo kit è il prezzo spropositato con cui lo propongono: peccato!
Il prossimo appuntamento con il Discontinued Day torna fra un mese: adesso vi consiglio di sbirciare fra gli oldies but goldies delle mie compagne :-D

Giardino d'inverno # 2 - Camouflage nails

Buongiorno a tutte!
Per questo nuovo appuntamento con il Giardino d'Inverno ho suggerito come tema una "tecnica di nail art". Molto vago, eh? A dir la verità quando l'ho proposto non avevo ancora pensato a cosa fare. A volte l'ispirazione giunge improvvisa, e stavolta è arrivata grazie a mio figlio. Ha disegnato una barca mimetica (ripresa da un episodio di Oggy e i maledetti scarafaggi) e mi è venuto in mente che avevo sempre desiderato provare una nail art mimetica :-)
Così ho preso il tutorial di Chalkboard Nails e ho provato a dare la mia interpretazione.

Ecco cosa ho usato:

Base color panna: OPI My vampire is buff
Nero:                   A-England Camelot
Giallo:                  Elevation Polish Streetside, NYC
Verde:                 Illamasqua Kink
Top coat:             Butter London Matte finish Shine Free Topcoat
Pennello:              Born Pretty Store 0000 Nail Art Brush

For the second day of the Winter Garden I suggested as a theme a "technique of nail art." Very vague, isn't it? To tell you the truth, when I suggested this, I had no idea about what to do. Sometimes inspiration comes suddenly, and this time it has arrived thanks to my son. He drew a camouflage boat (taken from an episode of Oggy and the Cockroaches) and I thought that I had always wanted to try a camouflage nail art :-) 

So I took the tutorial from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails and that's what I did. 

Here's what I used: 

Cream base: OPI My vampire is buff 

Black:           A-England Camelot 

Yellow:          Elevation Polish Streetside, NYC 

Green:          Illamasqua Kink 

Top coat:      Butter London Matte Finish Shine Free Topcoat 

Brush:          Born Pretty Store Brush Nail Art 0000
